FINAL COUNTDOWN

Assalamualaikum students;

I would like to announce that we will have our final/closing ceremony for the English Proficiency Enhancement Program (EPEP). The details are as below:

Date: 28th March 2010
Time: 8.30 pm
Venue: Dewan Kuliah Utama (DKU)

Come and join us on a celebration of the efforts of the participants! There will be prize giving ceremony, shows from all the winners and.............final competition for Speakers' Corner!!!

So please, bring your friends, your housemates, roommates, friend of a friend of a friend...everyone you know!!!

Condolence

Assalamualaikum students,


I would like to express my condolence for our friend Hafiz Ikhsan, who lost his mother on the 19th of March 2010. May Allah place his mother amongst those who are blessed, Insha Allah.

Let us all recite Al-Fatihah for her.

GROUP COMPETITION

Assalamualaikum dear students..

I had a blast watching (and judging) the participants for group activity contest. I can see that many of you (well..ALL of you!) put in a LOT of effort for the contest. For me, all students who participated in the contest are WINNERS! Because you actually strive through all the challenges and brave yourself doing something you have never done before.

I must say, I am very very very very (how many more verys?? hehe) PROUD and it almost made me CRY with PRIDE and JOY watching you students perform! Oh, I'll stop this emotional post and let you reminiscing the moments with these photos!!!

POSTERS COMPETITION REVISITED

The posters competition is slotted in for February 5th, 2010.

Each EPEP group must submit one poster.

Individual participation is also welcome from EPEP participants and all UDM students.

The participants however, must follow the guideline.



Competition Guideline:

1. The poster must be done on the paper provided.
2. The drawing must be in accordance to the themes suggested.
3. It's a free drawing and strictly no computer or software generated graphics
4. The winner will be determined based on the creativity, slogan and colours used, and ideas based on the themes given.



Suggested Themes:

a) Local fruits
b) Local scenes
c) English learning
d) Ambience
e) Wild life and nature
f) Health and lifestyle
g) Sports and recreational


All posters submitted will be on display at the locations to be announced according to the themes and for judging. The judges are composed of the deans and all the supervisors of the English Proficiency Enhancement Programme.



The Prizes:

1st prize = RM 300.00
2nd prize = RM 200.00
3rd prize = RM 100.00
5 Consolation prizes = RM 50.00

5 best posters for each theme will also receive a RM30.00 prize.



The organizer will not provide paint or brushes or crayons or water colours as these will be borne by the participants. Please specify the theme for your poster. The registration and paper collection can be done at the Faculty of Languages and Communication office starting from February 2nd 2010. The collection point for all posters will be at the Faculty of Languages and Communication meeting room at 4 - 5 p.m. on Tuesday February 9th 2010.

ENGLISH PROFICIENCY ENHANCEMENT PROGRAMME

Dear, Students

It is not too late yet for us to wish you all a Happy New Year 2010.

Our programme will resume this Thursday, 7 January 2010 at 2.30 pm.

Please go to your respective room (the same as last semester) and meet your dedicated facilitator. For your information, in this semester we will start with Group Presentation activities and there will be contests for: Choral Speaking, TV Commercial, Silent Movie, Western Dikir, Nasyid and Shadow Play scheduled on 21 and 28 January 2010 with some lucrative presents await you.

Feel free to contact your facilitator now and make arrangements for your activities.
