We would like to announce that the posters competition is postponed to a new date which will be announced later.

Meanwhile, let's have fun with the activities prepared for you guys!!!

POSTERS COMPETITION

The posters competition is in the planning.

It will begin during the week 7 and 8 when all the students comeback from the semester break.

All UDM students will be eligible to take part in the competition.

The students, however must follow a certain guideline.



Competition Guidelines:

1. the posters size is 2.5' x 4'
2. the drawing must be in accordance to the themes suggested.
3. it's a free drawing and strictly no computer or software generated graphics
4. the winner will be determined based on the creativity, slogan and colours used, and ideas based on the themes given.



Suggested Themes:

a) local fruits
b) local scenes
c) English learning
d) ambience
e) wild life and nature
f) health and lifestyle
g) sports and recreational


All posters submitted will be on display at the Main Hall according to the themes and for judging. The judges are composed of the deans and all the supervisors of the English Proficiency Enhancement Programme.



The Prizes:

1st prize = RM 300.00
2nd prize = RM 200.00
3rd prize = RM 100.00
5 Consolation prizes = RM 50.00

5 best posters for each theme will also receive a RM30.00 prize.



The organizer will not provide the poster papers, paint or brushes as these will be borne by the participants. Please specify the theme for your poster and the collection point for all posters will be at the Faculty of Languages and Communication meeting room at 5 p.m. Thursday during week 8.



The persons in charge of this competition are Puan Hajjah Mahani and Cik Alia Nabila.

Ice-Breaking

Immediately after the launching of the programme that evening, the facilitators met their group members for the first time. The supervisors also took the opportunity to meet their respective facilitators. The first activity was also conducted. Many participants found that ice-breaking session was fun and exciting and they are looking forward to the rest of the activities. Let's the fun and excitement begin !!!

The launching of the English Proficiency Enhancement Programme took place on Thursday,July 30th, 2009. It began at 3 p.m. and was officiated by the University Darul Iman Vice Chancellor, Dato' Professor Dr. Haji Alias bin Daud. Other VIPs included the Deputy Vice Chancellor for Research and Innovation, Professor Dr. Abdul Manaf bin Ali and the dean of the faculties.

The number of participants from this year's intake are 682 students in total. The 60 facilitators are selected mainly from the TESL and Bachelor of English students but there are a few from LAW and FPPP as well.

Refreshment was served after the first activity which was conducted immediately after the launching of the programme.
